Wimbledon Tennis - Wimbledon Tennis Tournament 2010
Monday 21 June - Sunday 4 July 2010
Wimbledon Tennis has helped make the sleepy town of Wimbledon very famous because the annual Wimbledon Tennis Tournament is one of the most exciting tennis events in the world.
It's the third Grand Slam event played each year alongside the Australian, French and US Open.
The games are played out on grass courts and as most countries have abandoned grass courts for clay, many of the players find this takes a little getting used to. This annual event lasts for two weeks, starting in late June and ending in July.
Winners of the Mens Final in 2008 and 2009
In the 2009 Mens Final Federer beat Roddick and in 2008 Rafael Nadal beat Roger Federer after an epic five-set battle between. Rafael Nadal (nickname Raffa) is the second Spaniard to win Wimbledon and in 2009, also became the first Spaniard to win the Australian Open.
Raffa was born in Manacor in Mallorca on June 3 1986 and has won six Grand Slam singles titles plus the 2008 Olympic gold medal in singles. if this this year's Wimbled tennis tournament is as exciting as last years was then we're in for a great time!
