St Patricks Day in London 17 March 2008

It's St Patricks Day in London and as the song goes...

'If you're Irish come into the parlour there's a welcome there for you...'

Well, never was this more appropriate than on this very special day in London.

London pubs will be decorated with all types of green decorations including shamrocks and leprachaun hats. In many pubs free novelty hats are given away once you've ordered your fifth pint of guinness! This is the only time of year when you're rewarded for drinking copiously!

There'll be many celebrations marking this festival and on Saturday, Covent Garden market will sell Irish Food from 11am - 6pm. It's just one of a number of Irish themed events taking place in the capital in the run up to St Patrick's Day on 17 March.
