Shakespeare Birthday Globe Theatre - Globe Theatre London

Shakespeare Birthday Globe Theatre
23 April is the birthday of William Shakespeare and this very special day is celebrated on London's Southbank at the Globe Theatre.
The annual celebration of the Bard's birthday coincide with the Mayor of London's St George's Day celebrations and every year there is something different to enjoy. Last year Sonneteers walked to the Globe Theatre on tours of Tudor London.
Come and join in the fun and imagine yourself back in Tudor times and wear a mask, celebrate with music, balloons, dance and workshops.
This year will be celebrated with the first performance of the season - King Lear and a special event on the Thames. A mini Elizabethan theatre will be transported up the river by boat from Butler’s Wharf to the Globe with musicians entertaining everyone along the way.
All the fun will continue on the river until 7.00pm when the gates to the theatre will open.
River Event Free
(Tickets for King Lear £5-£33)
