Regent Street Festival
Food Safari - 3-17 October 2011
Regent Street Festival this year was held in June but in October many of Regent Street’s acclaimed restaurants will be offering an exciting experience where customers can sample many types of food.
Specially priced sample plates will give you a taste of the signature dishes that Regent Street has to offer.
For dedicated vegetarians and epicurean omnivores, head to tibits in Heddon Street, just off Regent Street. As part of the Food Safari tibits will be offering visitors the opportunity to fill a small plate from their food boat for a fixed price of £6.50. The selection of colourful, delicious dishes includes salads, soups, hot daily specials and tempting deserts all accompanied with a healthy tisane or cheeky cocktail.
The Regent Street Food Safari will showcase a tempting gastronomic variety and give the opportunity to mix and experiment for an all-round taste experience, all within walking distance on The Mile of Style.

Festival in 2010

The fashion theme of 2010 saw stunning catwalk shows and fashionable spectacles on Regent Street, with in-store styling, makeovers, music and competitions popping up in stores throughout the day.
Pedestrianised as usual, live music took centre stage on the street, showcasing live bands providing a soundtrack of style.
Regent Street Shopping Experience
The Regent Street Festival birthday party saw Regent Street celebrate 180 years of shopping history, with many of the stores celebrating birthdays, such as Jaeger – 125, Gap – 40, Hamleys – 250, Quiksilver – 40 and Desigual & Uniqlo each hitting the 25 year mark.
There were live celebrations all day long including live performances on the main stage and two giant Birthday cakes made of thousands of little cup cakes which were served at 3pm.
Outside of Hamleys there were face painters, animal characters, a birthday tea party, balloon artists and magicians.
Live Entertainment
Fashion show, stiltwalkers, roaming musicians, a ferris wheel, a carousel, children’s rides and street performers are all part of this amazing festival which keeps partygoers entertained throughout the day.
Check out the food quarter (comprising of Heddon Street and Swallow Street) and expect special parties, children’s menus and of course, a vast selection of cocktails.
Tip! - At the end of Swallow Street is Piccadilly which is overflowing with up-market shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. Directly opposite Swallow Street is St James of Piccadilly - a famous old church which Byron used to attend as he lived close by. Have a drink in the rose garden or take a stroll in nearby Green Park which leads to St James Park and Buckingham Palace.
If you fancy spending some time at the park with the same name as this popular street, jump on a tube or bus and head for Regent's Park where you can also enjoy some great theatre during the summer months.
