portobello antiques market

Portobello Road has the largest antiques market in the world and people come from all over the world to visit it.

It's also famous for film locations and music videos and is where 'Bedknobs & Broomsticks' and 'Notting Hill' were filmed.

It's also where many musicians, authors, singers, politicians and film makers live. It's a very 'Arty' area of London with a richness and diversity that draws people to it.

Go straight down this famous road from Notting Hill, cross over Westbourne Grove and carry on down Portobello Road. Although you will still see many antique shops, restaurants and coffee shops, you'll soon come to an open market selling fresh fruit and veg.

There's nothing more enjoyable than visiting Portobello Road market on a Saturday as the entire area is electric and overflowing with people.

Don't forget to visit Portobello Arcade and Thorpe Close which are located under the Westway between Portobello Road and Ladbroke Grove. The entire area is bursting with activity as this is where creative local people rent units to sell their own products in fashionable and trendy units. The Portobello Green Fitness Club is situated here. This is where all the locals from Notting Hill and Ladbroke Grove come to keep fit.

At the end of Portobello there's a lovely little pet shop on the corner and opposite is a great Spanish restaurant. There's also a huge Spanish school just a few yards away.
