London Travel Card

A great way to get around London is with a London Travel Card as you can 'hop on and off' buses whenever you feel like it.

These cards are used to travel all over London and they cover different areas or ZONES of the city.

For example, London is divided into 6 Zones and Zones 1 & 2 cover central London. Zone 6 covers the outer areas of London such as Heathrow Airport.

Off-Peak Travel Cards cost far less and operate after 9.30am from Monday to Friday. Should you need to travel before this time then it's best to get a Peak Travelcard.

Prices vary and are liable to change but at the moment an Off-Peak Adult Travel Card costs £4.90

  • Children under 5 go FREE
  • Children 5- 15 can have a travelcard covering ALL zones for £2.00
  • Up to 4 children pay £1 each when accompanied by any adult rate valid Travelcard holder.

  • For recent information on prices check out www.tfl.gov.uk.

    Oyster Card

Most Londoners use an Oyster Card which you can top-up at kiosks and tube (underground stations). It's the cheapest way to make single journeys in the Capital and can be used on bus, Tube, trams, DLR, London Overground and some National Rail services in London.

Note: When you first get your Oyster card, you will need to pay a refundable £3 deposit if you are only adding cash to pay as you go - Online Oyster Card
