Banks
The majority of banks open Monday to Friday from 09.30 - 16.30 and some branches
open on Saturday from 09.30 - 12.00 (Mid-day)
and are closed on Sunday.
Should you need money when the banks are closed there are 'holes in the wall' (ATMs) all over town.
Electricity
The standard voltage in London is 240v and if you're coming from abroad you will need to buy an adaptor as the standard electrical socket is a 3 square pin plug. Shaver points are the same as in Europe and use the standard 2 round pin plug.

In central London many shops stay open until 8, 9 or 10pm at night.
Many shops open on Bank Holidays but on Christmas Day the majority close.
You can often find local small shops open until midnight selling food and drinks and a few of the large supermarkets, such as Tescos and Asda, stay open all night.
