London taxis are black and all taxi drivers must pass a test which is based on their knowledge of London. Once they have passed the text they are licensed to drive and must display their serial number on the back bumper and inside the back of the taxi.
Taxis are everywhere in central London and you'll definitely have no problem finding one. All you have to do is hail one in the street, use dial a cab or go to a taxi rank.
All airports, stations and many streets and squares all over London have taxi ranks and if you travel at rush hour, be prepared for a long wait.
There's a basic charge before you start your journey and when the taxi starts moving, the meter starts ticking.
