LONDON EVENTS

London Film Festival 15 - 30 October 2008

London Film Festival

The London Film Festival will be opened this year with Ron Howard's "Frost/Nixon" movie which was based on the 1977 interviews between British television presenter David Frost and US president Richard Nixon on the Watergate scandal.

The much publicised Woody Allen latest comedy drama 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona' (showing 25 October) transports us to the beautiful city of Barcelona with a star studded cast including Penelope Cruz, Rebecca Hall, Scarlett Johanssen and Javier Bardem.

The festival is Europe's largest public film event. It focuses on films which wouldn't normally be screened in this country and films due to be released in London in the autumn or spring.

Screenings are attended by people involved in making the films and this includes actors, directors, producers and stuntmen. Everyone gets involved and the audience have the opportunity to put questions to their favourite actors and directors.

Over 300 films from more than 50 countries are screened at 14 venues across London.
