With the London Eye you can get a 'birds-eye' view of London. This popular London attraction opened in March 2003 and is one of the most visited as it's in the perfect location on London's trendy and fashionable Southbank opposite Big Ben.

There are thirty two air conditioned passenger capsules which (due to the slow pace), you can just walk on and off at your leisure. The Eye towers over the river Thames and offers the most amazing views of the city of London.

You can see London's famous streets and on a clear day you can even see Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.

While you wait to take a ride on the Eye you can enjoy a drink and a bite to eat at one of the many open-air bars and restaurants that line the walkways of this fashionable area.

Open daily from: 10am to 8pm (9pm July and August)
Closures / Exclusions: 25th and 31st December, 14 February
Children: Child ages: 5-14. Children aged 4 and below are free

How to get to the Eye

Approximately five minutes walking distance from Waterloo Tube. Just follow the signs for Southbank. From Westminster Tube Station take exit one and follow signs for Westminster Pier

Buses: 211, 24 and 11

Rail: 15 minutes from Charing Cross station and reached by crossing the Hungerford Bridge
