London Culture is exciting, vibrant and full of music, dance, theatre, festivals, museums and art galleries.
Immerse yourself in the stunning architecture of places like St Paul's Cathedral and Westminster Abbey. Visit the nearby trendy areas of Southbank and Covent Garden and discover and enjoy the real London.
The Southbank of London is oozing with culture.
Overlooking the river Thames is the Royal Festival Hall and perched on top is the Queen Elizabeth Hall. Both are situated in South Bank Centre.
Just a stones throw away is the famous Globe Theatre, an authentic thatched wooden reconstruction of the
original open-air playhouse where many of the most famous plays of William Sheakespeare were written and
performed.
Every year Shakespeare's birthday is celebrated in the Globe and on the river. This replica of the orginal (which was just 200 yards away), is the brainchild of American actor and director Sam Wanamaker.
Not far away is the rather austere looking National Theater and outside is a statue of Sir Lawrence Olivier as Hamlet.
There are three auditoriums under one roof - the Olivier (named after Laurence Olivier and with the famous revolving stage), Lyttelton and Cottesloe.
Romantic London Poets

John Keats is one of the most famous romantic poets born in London.
Romanticism came about in the latter half of the 18th century, during the Industrial Revolution, perhaps as a revolt to the objective rationality of science brought about by the Age of Enlightenment - Complete Poems

There's a thriving art scene with the
Tate Modern, Hayward Gallery and not far away the
Tate Britain.
Other exciting art galleries are the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square and the Royal Academy of Arts in Piccadilly.
Of the many romantic poets born in London John Keats and Lord Byron are amongst the most famous. William Shakespeare's famous Globe Theatre is on the Southbank.
A definite must to visit whilst you are in London are the amazing theatres in Soho and the trendy area of
Covent Garden. This is the center of theatre-land and also where the
Royal Opera House is and where the Royal Ballet companies are based alongside the English National Opera.
London Concert Tickets
Throughout the year London hosts a large number of pop concerts and throughout the year and the newly built 02 Center and Wembley are where many of the large London Concerts are held. Other popular central London venues include the
Barbican Centre and the
Royal Albert Hall.
London wouldn't be complete without the Proms which are of intrinsic value to London culture. These very popular classical music events are held at the Royal Albert Hall and also in Hyde Park alongside many other concerts throughout the year.
A relative newcomer to London and now in its 4th year is the Open Rehearsal program which takes place across London during September. Londoners and visitors to London can go behind the scenes of London's most exciting performing arts and cultural organisations and this year the program will also include visual arts, museums and open studios events.
Many of the most popular museums in London are free.
The British Museum is the most famous of all them all and definitely not to be missed.
The Victoria & Albert Museum, Science Museum and Sherlock Holmes Museum are just some of the many wonderful museums to visit.
There are many amazing festivals in London such the annual 2 day Notting Hill Carnival which is held in Notting Hill west London at the end of August.
The Lord Mayor's Show culminates in a fantastic display of fireworks on the River Thames.
Another popular event is the two day Thames Festival with events ranging from street performers to carnival night.
You'll be pleased to know that London has undergone a massive culinary renaissance and eating out in London is now a truly fantastic experience.
You can expect much more than the traditonal fish and chips and roast beef and yorkshire pud!
London is also famous for it's pubs and pub food which are all part of the amazing culture of London.
