Three of flamenco's leading female dancers, Carmen Cortés, Rafaela Carrasco and Olga Pericet share the stage for a display of virtuoso dance ranging from traditional gypsy flamenco through to trailblazing contemporary flamenco. Cortés is one of today's most revered artists, celebrated for her performances of flamenco puro. Meanwhile Rafaela Carrasco and Olga Pericet are both considered to be two of the most outstanding dancers of the younger generation.

The Flamenco Gala is part of Sadler's Wells' Flamenco Festival London.

Vicente Amigo Latin Grammy Award-winning Vicente Amigo has been dubbed one of the most accomplished flamenco guitarists of his generation and is seen as a successor to the legendary composer and flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucía. He has received many of Spain's most prestigious music awards and built a reputation for innovation and collaboration with artists from outside the realms of flamenco music.

Famous for his flamenco-based versions of Blood Wedding and Carmen, the work of the late Antonio Gades never fails to deliver 'drama of the highest order' (The Times) and 'gutsy authenticity' (Time Out). This year, his company perform his folk-dance-drama interpretation of Lope de Vega's play, Fuenteovejuna. Set in an Andalusian village, Fuenteovejuna is based on real events in the 15th century.


Jose Merce - In Concert at Sadlers Wells

Jose Merce Famous flamenco cantaor José Mercé returns to Sadler's Wells for the first time since 2003 with Nuevo Amanecer (New Dawn), a special evening that includes all of Mercé's biggest hits from a 15 year career that has seen him sell over half a million albums.


Directions: Take the Northern Line to Angel station. The theatre is approximately 10 minutes walk
