Discover Kensington Gardens
One of the beautiful London Parks...

Kensington Gardens is one of the most beautiful of London Parks and is where you'll find Kensington Palace which was home to Princess Diana.
The gardens are very close to Hyde Park, in fact they were once part of it and are surrounded y Queensway, Notting Hill and Kensington where the world famous Royal Albert Hall is situtaed.
Directly opposite the Royal Albert Hall is the stunning Albert Memorial which was commissioned by Queen Victoria in memory of her husband Prince Albert who died at the age of 42 of typhoid in 1861.
Diana Princess of Wales' Memorial Playground
Kensington Gardens have always had a lovely little playground near the palace close to Bayswater Road and now it's dedicated to the memory of Princess Diana.
The playground has pirate ships and much more for children to enjoy and there's also a Clocktower and a very old and famous Elfin Oak tree which is covered with fairy-folk and witches.
Next to the playground is the Broadwalk Cafè and a Playcafè is located inside the playground. Times are from 8.00am - 8.00pm in summer and 10.00am - 4.00pm in winter.

The Round Pond / Peter Pan

The famous
Round Pond is now a popular spot for taking a walk or just relaxing with a book or, weather permitting, sunbathing.
Children love to sail their boats and on windy days this is the place to come to fly a kite.
There are many famous landmarks to visit such as the Peter Pan statue which is dedicated to JM Barrie who wrote the book Peter Pan.
In 2004 the film Neverland (which was based on the book Peter Pan) was filmed here and starred Kate Winslet and Johnny Depp and this year there's going to be a spectacular new stage production of J. M. Barrie's classic story, performed in a specially commissioned, state-of-the-art Theatre Pavilion.
The gardens are a favorite spot for filming films such as the 'The Edge of Reason' which was filmed from the Serpentine Gallery and finished in the central basin of the Italian Garden.
This area of the park is close to Lancaster Gate tube station which is a very picturesque part of the Gardens.
As well as the many lovely fountains and gardens there are two children's playgrounds. Ice creams and drinks are available and you can easily walk from here to Marble Arch in about 5 - 10 minutes.
Also in the gardens is the much loved Serpentine Gallery for modern and contemporary art and architecture. The gallery is very popular attracting 750,000 visitors a year. Admission is FREE.
These stunning Royal London Parks are just a stones throw away from the hub and excitement of London. They are a great way to spend a few hours in London Town and throughout the year (including Christmas) many London parks including Kensigton Gardens, offer FREE walks and events.
The Diana Princess of Wales Memorial is
located in the southwest corner of Hyde Park south of the Serpentine Lake and east of the Serpentine Gallery.
