LONDON RESTAURANTS

Harrods Department Store London

Harrods Department Store London opened its doors to the public in 1849 and has always prided itself on a reputation for excellence and luxury.

Much more than a shopping destination, the store is quintessentially British and definitely not to be missed. The dècor inside is amazing and whatever you need is here.

As with most success stories, Harrods emerged from humble origins in the East End of London where due to a cholera epidemic sweeping London.

In 1849, Charles Henry Harrod was forced to move his grocery shop from Stepney to Brompton Road in Knightsbridge and from this day onwards he never looked back.

In 1985 the store was bought by the al-Fayed brothers for £615 million.

At Christmas the store is ablaze with seasonal gifts and the food hall overflows with an abundance of truly sumptuous foods. You can also order Hampers online to fill your holiday with exceedingly delicious good cheer.

There are 28 restaurants spread over 7 floors all offering mouth-watering dishes ranging from traditional British fare of beer or oysters and Champagne. There's sushi or hamburgers and chips or you can have a decadent à la carte meal set in luxurious surroundings.
