To the north of the Park are the National Maritime Museum and Queen's House and nearby is the Royal Naval College which stands on the site where Greenwich Palace (the Palace of Placentia) once stood. Henry VIII and his daughters, Mary 1 and Elizabeth 1 were born at the palace in Greenwich England. The Tudor palace was demolished in the 17th century and became Greenwich Hospital, then Greenwich Royal Naval College. Under the Queen Anne Block of the College are the remains of the cellars of the old palace.
