Covent Garden
...in London's West End
Covent Garden is probably the most popular area of London to visit simply because it's full of life and there's so much to do. This central area of London is one of the most popular for tourists and Londoners alike.
Covent Garden Market

The glass covered market is for many the centerpiece of this very exciting and colorful area. Boutiques, bookshops, tea and chocolate shops and brightly colored indoor stalls are choca-bloc with unusual things to buy.
The Piazza is located in the exact position where the old market used to be. It was a very popular London market much loved by Londoners and visitors alike.
The market had been selling fruit, vegetables and flowers from the 1500s until 1974, when it relocated as a wholesale market to Nine Elms, Vauxhall, London SW8.
During the spring and summer months the Real Food Market provides a feast of gastronmic delights and during Christmas the entire area becomes an Aladdins cave full of mouth-watering Yule-tide goodies, entertainment and seasonal fun.
The pedestrianized Piazza is full of shops, restaurants, bars and cafés.
Trendy Boutiques & Upmarket Stores
Boutiques and high street stores blend well with some of the oldest and most fascinating shops and on the piazza is the newly renovated Royal Opera House which dates back to 1732.
The old cobbled streets streets are full of cafés, restaurants and street-entertainers who cast a magical spell over all who come to visit this very special area of London.
Neal's Yard
Tucked away in a small corner of the area known as Seven Dials in Covent Garden is Neal's Yard. This area wasn't even marked on the London A-Z until the mid 1970s and is associated with hippies and the flower generation.
This is a great area to book your hotel as everything is literally on your doorstep.
If you get tired of walking around you can always take one of the popular rick-shaw rides around town for just a few pounds.
