The festive season starts on Thursday 4th December 2008 with local schools and charities singing and on Saturday 6th December, the BBC3 Choir of the Year are performing.

Frost Fair

This is a fantastic annual fair on Bankside with an Xmas market where you can by all your gifts and indulge in mulled wine and mince pies. There's so much for all the family and as it's just outside the Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe there'll be lots of fun and entertainment.

COLOGNE CHRISTMAS MARKET
Friday 21 November 2008 - Tuesday 23 December 2008 ~ 10am - 10pm (daily)
More than 40 stalls along Queen's Walk (between the London Eye and Royal Festival Hall) with jewellery, hand-crafted toys, ornaments, mulled wine and festival food. All accompanied by traditional Christmas music and a traditional carousel.

Delicious festive food and drink at Southbank Centre Square
Southbank Centre Square is behind the Royal Festival Hall and the market has British ham, French cheese, Italian olive oil, a hog- roast, chocolate shots, mulled wine and it will also bring live music to the South Bank.
