Christmas Lights In London

Christmas Lights in London switch-on ceremonies are wonderfully glitzy events full of stars and celebrities which the people of London love.

Oxford Street Christmas Lights Switch-on Wed Nov 12 6.15pm

The stage show starts at 5pm and the lights will be switched on at 6.15pm. The ceremony will be performed on a stage outside John Lewis department store and The Sugababes will do the honors with live performances from the 'The X Factor'.

On 6 Nov 2008 Hamleys switches its Christmas lights and the store will be transformed into a winter wonderland.

Bond Street Noël Switch-on: Thur 20 November at 6pm

20 November 2007 at 6pm (corner of Burlington Gardens and Old Bond Street)

Sophie Dahl did it last year and this year the lights will be switched on by a mystery 'Bond Girl'. In aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity as always there'll be seasonal snow, reindeer, carol singers, choir singers and entertainers and musicians at this spectacular Christmas event.

More than 40 stalls along Queen's Walk (between the London Eye and Royal Festival Hall) with jewellery, hand-crafted toys, ornaments, mulled wine and festival food. All accompanied by traditional Christmas music and a traditional carousel.

Covent Garden Christmas Lights Switch-on Monday 17th November

From Monday 17th November, Covent Garden will glow with a spectacular light installation courtesy of UVA. Color LED tubes and chandeliers will light up Covent Garden Market and transform it to a magical winter wonderland - Covent Garden at Christmas

Trafalgar Square Christmas Tree Switch-on - Thursday Dec 4 at 6pm

This old tradition continutes with the Lord Mayor of Westminster and the Mayor of Oslo doing the honors. Carols are sung around the tree with the choir of nearby St Martin-in-the-Fields.
