Covent Garden Christmas Lights Switch-on 10th November 2011 - Covent Garden Piazza 6.30pm - 7pm

Christmas in Covent Garden this year will be as amazing as ever with red baubles and mirror balls, carol singing and the topiary reindeer. You can stroke a real-live reindeer on the East Piazza every Saturday from 12th November until December 24th (Christmas Eve).

Nativity Scene 2011

The work will be unveiled on November 10 and exhibited on a large screen in a contemporary log cabin located in the Piazza every day from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. until January 2nd 2012.

This year visual artist Martha Fiennes has created a unique centrepiece for Covent Garden. Award-winning director, whose films include ‘Onegin’, starring her famous brother Ralph Fiennes) with her company, SLOimage, use digital technology and live actors, still images will be brought to life. Fiennes has created a tableau of Mary, Joseph and Jesus, the Magi, angels and onlookers, within a digital painting.

Enjoy seasonal cheer from 24th November to Christmas Eve at the Real Food Market from Thursday to Saturday on the East Piazza.

The Apple Market is full of Xmas gifts and will be open every day from 10.30am to 6pm.

All the markets are surround by restaurants and bars so great when you feel like a bite to eat.

Covent Garden has been transformed into a magical wonderland and the East Piazza boasts a Christmas tree and topiary reindeer.

Covent Garden crowds love popular classical music and Bowjangles' are the only quartet who play classical instruments while dancing.

Carols in Covent Market

Every Saturday the Piazza will have carol singing from some of London's most loved choirs. On Thursday 10th December the London Gay Men's Chorus kicks off the festivities and on Saturday 12th it's the turn of the Urban Precinct. King's College Cambridge is represented by All the King's Men choral scholars bring chamber music to the Piazza on Saturday 19th December.

Carol Services Christmas in Covent Garden

The 31st Great Christmas Pudding Race will take place on 3rd December 2011.
