Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace and the Victoria Memorial are situated in central London at the end of the Mall at close to Trafalgar Square.

If you're near Piccadilly it's very easy to walk to the Palace through Green Park which leads on to St James Park and then the palace.

The Palace has been the official London residence of Britain's Monarchs since 1837. It has a total of 775 rooms and the State Rooms of the Palace are open to the public from August to September.

Victoria Memorial

Every year the Queen hosts three garden parties and approximatley 8,000 guests attend each party.

Tea and cakes are served on long buffet tables with a typical garden party serving 27,000 cups of tea, 20,000 sandwiches and 20,000 slices of cakes.

If this has wetted your appetite, try this! You can visit the treasures of The Queen's Gallery, the Art of Italy and follow this with afternoon tea at The Rubens.
